The word itself is a huge sensation in the current era. everyone is talking about the internet. But can you tell me what exactly internet is? Or have you ever think of who invented the internet and what is the history of the internet?
Well, I have an answer to these questions. Let me put some points forward on this hot topic.
What is Internet
Internet or what we simply call Net is now ruling the world. It is basically networks of networks i.e a global system of interconnected networks that has two servers and ISP(Internet Service provider) amid in wire which is inter-linked. The servers use different protocols; each and every protocol employs their own IP address. The Internet is a medium of sharing information through networks. Overall it is a process of accessing information using IPS(Internet Protocol Suit i.e TCP/IP) by linking devices worldwide. Internet carries a vast range of information such as inter-linked hypertext document and applications of www(World Wide Web).
Use of Internet
Usage of an internet has now become one of the primary works of day to day human life. Nowadays, with the help of the internet, almost everything is possible. Because it provides us more and more facility to gather and share information or to connect with each other. There are a lot of examples from where it can be understood in a very easy way. In today’s world internet is used in each and every sector or places such as banking, railway, business, private, public and domestic sectors etc. Most of the traditional way of connecting with people like a newspaper, telephony, letters are now redefined by the use of internet giving birth to various new options like email, internet telephony, online newspapers etc. The Internet has introduced new modes of personal interactions like instant messaging, internet forums and social networking sites.
Another major boon of the internet is online shopping that makes our busy life easier and encourages entrepreneurs and small retailers. How can one ignore the blessings of the internet to the earning and career-making zone? Studying something is now much easier with the help of internet. Blogging is one of the best examples of career-making using the internet.
History of the Internet
Now a question must have come to your mind that “Who invented the internet?”
It was obviously not a one-night revolution. After so many researchers and experiments in the year of 1950, the first computer electronics was developed to know that wide area networking i.e to clear the concepts of wide area networking originated from several computers sciences laboratories in the United States. As we can say that it was developed the wide networking through there amid of several computers. Afterwards, in the 1960s, the ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) project is developed by Robert Taylor and it had been managed by Lawrence Roberts.
Let’s get some more details about what is the history of the internet. Both the scientist had developed there ARPANET and connected several computers through the ARPANET. Although 1969 is the year which had succeeded to sent the first message through ARPANET and that first message had sent by computer science professor named as Leonard Kleinrock’s at University of California laboratory. And these networks divided into small pieces of the network which were named as packet switching networks. Based on packet switching networks in between the year 1960 and 1970 so, many communications protocols were developed. In the meanwhile, in 1970 the internet protocol suite(TCP/IP) was developed by Robert E. Kahn and Vint Cerf and spread the network protocol very fast on the ARPANET. After research and education, scientists established their supercomputer for interconnectivity in 1986. There so many supercomputers were connected with the sites over the network for the access and it succeeded. Apart from these Internet Service Providers (ISP) emerged very late in 1980. Finally in 1990 ARPANET was changed as named Internet. And this interlinking between several networks officially named as INTERNET instead of ARPANET.
